35 YEARS IN: A WORK IN SEVEN MOVEMENTS

ALBUM PRESS RELEASE

Filippo Giani presents 35 Years In: A Work in Seven Movements

In 2026, Filippo Giani marks 35 years since his first record with a project that is not a retrospective, but a conceptual work.

Structured in seven movements, the album moves through the sonic landscapes that have shaped his journey from the 1990s to today. It is not a revival, but a mature reinterpretation of the languages that defined a generation.

From the electronic expansion of Universe Inside to the human groove of Hands Making Plans, from the urban observation of People I Don’t Know to the emotional drive of Sealed With A Kiss, the project evolves into the introspection of Disappear to Feel, the silent strength of Power, and the grounded closure of Still.

This first project of his return is also the first work in which Giani approaches AI as part of his creative process. Built around a traditional production framework, with selected AI-generated parts developed from mid-2025 onwards, 35 Years In became a space for deep research into new AI-based tools, prompt composition and the relationship between language, intention and musical direction.

There is a genuine sense of curiosity in the work, almost like a child discovering a new toy. The technology is still being explored rather than fully mastered, and this becomes part of the album’s character, especially in the way the AI-generated elements interact with the more traditional musical construction.

The greatest challenge was to merge this classic production approach — built with Logic, MIDI instruments, loops and samples — with AI-generated parts, making the two worlds feel coherent, credible and emotionally connected.

Another defining aspect of this first work is structural. In the past, Giani had always begun with the music, while melody and lyrics arrived only later in the process. With this album, that workflow is completely reversed.

The starting point became themes, ideas and narratives. Lyrics came first, followed by melody, and only then by the music itself. The final result offers a noticeably more mature listening experience: more song-oriented, more narrative, and less bound to the loop-based house and dance structures of the 1990s.

This is not revival. It is evolution. Electronics become human. Groove becomes responsibility. Energy becomes awareness.

35 Years In is a sequential work, designed to be experienced in its entirety, following the seven movements in their intended numerical order.

35 Years In: A Work In Seven Movements

THE SEVEN MOVEMENTS

I. Universe Inside
Electronic Expansion The opening is cosmic. Space, air, vision. “There’s a universe inside us…” Everything begins within.

II. Hands Making Plans
Soul / Groove The body enters the scene. Hands become action. “Hands making plans…” Energy transforms into responsibility.

III. People I Don’t Know
Conscious Hip Hop The city. Faces. Invisible distances. “There are people I don’t know…” Clear observation, without judgment.

IV. Sealed With A Kiss
Punk / Dance Energy The first impulse. The first love. “Sealed with a kiss…” The heart runs faster than the mind.

V. Disappear to Feel
Trance Emotion After the explosion, dissolution. “We disappear to feel…” Vulnerability becomes strength.

VI. Power
Minimal Urban Control Power does not shout. “Power moves in silence.” Control. Maturity.

VII. Still
Cinematic Maturity Return to the starting point. But transformed. “Inside… still…” Not an ending. A state of balance.
