UNDER THE MOON

Filippo Giani presents Under the Moon

Under the Moon was born almost like a flash in Filippo Giani’s mind during a night walk with his dog around the lake of St. Moritz. The water was completely still, reflecting the stars, the lights of the village and, high above, the full moon in all its beauty. Yet the moon itself, because of the angle of reflection, was not mirrored in the lake. From that image came the line that would become the emotional core of the song: “Under the moon, we are the stars.”

Back home, the composition unfolded naturally from a bright 90s-style piano, with that classic offbeat pulse so closely tied to the era. There was really only one sound that could carry it: the unmistakable voice of the legendary KORG M1, a keyboard that defined two decades of dance production. In a single night, both the music and the lyric were written; within a few more days, the vocals and mastering were completed.

At its core, Under the Moon is a song about scale, wonder and belonging. Built around the contrast between the vastness of the universe and the smallness of human life, it turns that tension into something uplifting rather than fragile. Instead of treating insignificance as loss, the song suggests that meaning begins precisely there: in the awareness that we are small, and still capable of feeling, seeking and connecting.

The lyric moves through images of night, water, horizon and sky, gradually shifting from questioning to acceptance. Under the moon, the self is no longer isolated, but part of a larger movement, where uncertainty becomes beauty and searching becomes its own form of truth. Musically, the song supports this feeling with melodic openness and a spacious emotional atmosphere, giving the text room to breathe while keeping a clear rhythmic identity. The result is a track that feels intimate and expansive at once — a meditation on human fragility, but also on the quiet strength that comes from standing beneath something greater and still feeling whole.

LYRICS

[Verse 1]

I walk these streets with questions deep,
Why chase these dreams we cannot keep?
A world so loud, yet we are small,
Still under these skies, I feel it all.

[Chorus]

Under the moon, we are the stars
Walking the night, we know who we are
Reflections on water, deep in the soul
We’re small, but we’re whole.

[Verse 2]

I watch horizons call my name,
So small, yet I don’t feel the same.
The unknown night may bring us fear,
Still we find meaning being here.

[Chorus]

Under the moon, we are the stars
Walking the night, we know who we are
Reflections on water, deep in the soul
We’re small, but we’re whole.

[Bridge]

I hear the cosmos call tonight,
I cross the shadows toward the light.
With open eyes I follow through,
I rise with hope, I come to you.

[Chorus]

Under the moon, we are the stars
Walking the night, we know who we are
Reflections on water, deep in the soul
We’re small, but we’re whole.

[Bridge]

I hear the cosmos call tonight,
I cross the shadows toward the light.
With open eyes I follow through,
I rise with hope, I come to you.

[Chorus]

Under the moon, we are the stars
Walking the night, we know who we are
Reflections on water, deep in the soul
We’re small, but we’re whole.
